Our Genmaicha tea is a cozy blend of premium sencha green tea with toasted & popped rice. This tradition of adding rice to green tea dates back centuries; as the colder months started to settle in, rice was added to the last tea harvest in fall to ensure there was enough to sip all winter. The warm character of toasted rice brings a subtle nutty sweetness to your cup, balancing perfectly with the fresh vegetal flavour of sencha.
